"Hanging Out, Burano"

| The bright houses on the isle of Burano near Venice were irresistible to photograph. This pastel was done on Wallis paper by first blocking in the big shapes with Nu-pastel and painting them with 70% isopropyl alcohol. After a light coat of workable fixative I lightened and brightened the image with softer pastels of Sennelier. |
