This is a busy portrait that not only shows three girls and one boy in beautiful clothing, but nicely includes their home environment, and a personable dog. All are in dark clothing, which acts as a foil for their faces, done in soft and varied flesh tones. Each child has an individual expression and body posture nicely incorporated into the whole. There are so many individual parts to this composition, that it takes time to appreciate the work that has gone into its making.
