| I used the tobacco brown color of the paper for the dark areas, constructed the middle tones with my medium hard Girault and Rembrandt pastels, and struck the lights and highlights with buttery soft Schminke and Sennelier pastels. I love the way music transports people to another realm. I tried to convey this with the pianist's expression, and the tumbling, cascading piano keys. |
