Most of the movement in this piece is in the background, in the sky full of restless clouds. This sky contrasts nicely with the centuries-old buildings and walls of the town in the foreground. Yet there is indeed movement in the town, in the form of the bent tree on the left, placed there purposely for compositional purposes.
