Open Jurying for APOW
 
APPLICATIONS FOR APOW MEMBERSHIP
In addition to personal invitations, APOW will also jury anyone's work who has the listed qualifications, and adheres to the following directions. Put a checkmark as you do each thing and print out the sheet for directions.

___1. All mail is sent to Madlyn-Ann C. Woolwich, 473 Marvin Drive, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

___2. Each applicant must have the following qualifications: regional signature membership such as PSWC, SPS or NPS etc. and/or National signature qualifications such as PSA (Pastel Society of America). Another approach that may be considered is being on the roster of a nationally known gallery, where you regularly show pastel.

___3. Send a page of slides (10) and on another page or pages, a typed 3 sentence writeup of each image. Label slides with title, size and your name. List title, size, materials used and what you tried to show in each image. Also send a one page, single-spaced, size 12 font, biography. Include name, address and email and fax addresses at top.(check bios on the website for how to do it.) Send two checks: a $35.00 check for jurying, and a $250 check for inclusion. All checks will be made out to Madlyn-Ann C.Woolwich, to avoid juggling between two accounts. Anyone whose work is not ready for the site will have the $250 check returned.

___4. Each artist must submit work in ONE of the following categories: Invited artists submit in the requested category. Others choose the category a. portrait and clothed figures b. still life c. landscapes with figures, d. Marinescapes, e. abstract, f. personal imagery (see website of Judith G. Smith) g. animals (Please state your working category.)

___5. Send all materials and checks with 8 1/2" x 11" Tyvek or sturdy envelope SASE for reply. We are using multiple jurors around the country.

___6. Send email, fax and snail mail addresses. If you do not have email, you must send an email address of someone else for transmitting messages back to you. This is a requirement.

___7. Send a postcard to above address immediately, and let me know who you are (name, email and snail mail address), qualifications and what category you will be entering.

___8. Read directions carefully. All new applicant's work is due by July 15, 2007. There will be five highly competent jurors involved in the jurying process. We only jury and post in April and October.

When you have exactly followed directions for each number, put a checkmark in front of it. Label slides carefully, and send new work done in last 3 years. Submit in one category and reread directions for accuracy.
