Nancy Bacon-Clancy Nancy Bacon-Clancy is a Bay Area artist born in Palo Alto in 1954. Her love of painting began at 13 and by 16 she had exhibited in her own solo show in Los Altos, California. She sold enough paintings to meet her goal of buying herself a new 10-speed bike. By 18 she had been commissioned by her High school to paint a portrait. Upon graduation, she received both a Fine Arts Award and the prestigious Bank of America Scholarship. She went on to study at San Jose State University in the school of Fine Arts under the mentorship of Maynard Dixon Stuart where she earned her degree in Representational Painting (emphasis on the human figure). Her first job out of school was a staff portrait painter for the 20th Century Fox Studios. She went on to embark on a career in commission portraiture and private instruction. After receiving her Teaching Credential, Nancy began teaching adult education, along with selling her works both in the Bay Area, and in the East Coast metropolitan areas. Nancy enjoys painting a wide variety of subjects in both oil and watercolor. Her exhibits include landscapes from all over North America, as well as diverse portraits that portray the vitality of the people of Nova Scotia, the Native American Community, and more. Adult Education Teaching Credential, San Jose State University. 1993 Diploma from Regional Occupation Training in Graphic Art. 1998, 1999 Awards and Recognition Winner of Fine Arts Award High School Bank of America Scholarship Winner in Arts for the Parks, Jackson Hole, Wyoming National Art Exhibition (top 200) 1996 Exhibited in La Rue Gallery, Carmel, California Old Town Art Center, Los Gatos, California Exhibited and sold over four hundred paintings spanning 20 years. Worked as an airbrush artist for 20th century Fox. |
