Rachel X Hobreigh
Rachel X Hobreigh is a recognized Tai Chi Master, muralist, and a painter with an MA in public art. Rachel has a permanent installation at the Mike Curb School of Art and Design, in Northridge California, entitled Waterfall Art Stream and Five Element Tower, and her murals can be seen across California from Haddon Elementary in Pacoima to the Golden Fleece in Pacific Palisades.

Rachel's art centers on the environment and the five elements: earth, metal, water, wood and fire. Her latest project is to create a global public art piece that can unite the world through art and environmental concerns. Rachel's most recent public art project, uses a 747 airplane as a canvas, a symbol of an object that can physically go anywhere in the world. Rachel's vision is to create one art piece in which all of the nations of the world are represented.

Artist's Statement
"My work is made up of sculpture, painting, performance art and site specific installations. Tai Chi is a martial art and philosophy that I've studied for 25 years. Tai Chi encompasses the principles of yin-yang, and the five elements, which are the basis of my artwork. The integration of dark-receiving-female energy and bright-advancing-male energy mixed with wood, fire, earth, metal and water, makes for an unlimited palette of possibilities."
