Creating Abstraction in Pastel or Acrylic (Bernard, ME)

This workshop will emphasize developing abstract paintings in pastel or acrylic. Students will learn a variety of ways to develop both non-objective and nature based abstractions. Time will be spent drawing from nature and taking these drawings back to the studio to create abstractions. Students will learn to "loosen up", be more expressive and work intuitively.

Classical Oil Portraiture (Atlanta, GA)

Learn how to lay in an accurate underdrawing in vine charcoal and create a small color study as a tool for making color choices. Then we will create an underpainting, a wash in a thin layer of color over your underdrawing. Next we will learn to execute the overpainting. Finally, we will learn a glazing technique.
