This juried exhibition is open to artwork in all media (except film/video) that present a link between perception, appearance and reality. Works can explore ideas of expectation and illusion while displaying a visual image that is not quite as it first appears. Illusionist art is represented in a variety of styles including but not limited to trompe l'oeil, photorealism, surrealism, 3D, hidden elements and optical illusion. Open to all artists world-wide age 18 and over. All artwork entered must be the artist's original creations completed within the last five years, and must not have been exhibited in past Monmouth Museum exhibitions. Acceptance into the exhibition is not guaranteed with entry. Artists are requested to submit digital images in JPEG format on a CD. Include a statement (not more than 1 page) on the work submitted. Mail payment, CD, image list, application and artist statement to: The Monmouth Museum, P.O. Box 359, Lincroft, NJ 07738. CDs will not be returned.

The Contemporary Artists Center has recently opened its newest residency program on the campus of the Woodside National Historic Register Site. Two neo-gothic stone church buildings now house our artist program and welcome artists from all over the U.S. and abroad. The CAC is located 2.5 hours north of NYC, and is currently accepting applications for the Spring season. The CAC focuses on emerging and early career artists and accepts applicants who offer quality in their art and encourages diversity of style, medium (2-D, 3-D, 4-D) and concepts. Our facility features high-ceiling, adaptable studio space open 24 hours a day with some specialized studio facilities, exhibition opportunities, weekly critiques, and free access to all CAC events. The living area includes lofted bedrooms, living room / library, dining room, and kitchen & bath. The residency program offers artists the time and support to create new work and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, dialog, and experimentation.

The Target Gallery and the March of Dimes are teaming up to raise money for both organizations with the appropriate title, "March Madness." This exhibit is open to all artists (local and regional) with the requirement that the work is created on 10x10 inch wood panels provided by the Target Gallery. The $15 entry fee guarantees entry into the exhibit, one wood panel, a chance for judges' awards, and free entry with one drink ticket to the Art Party on March 16th. There is a limit of 3 entries per artist. Pick up your panel January 2nd - February 17th, 10am to 6pm. Completed artwork must be brought back to the gallery February 20-26th, 10am to 6pm.
