Watercolor Workshop with Mel Stabin

Watercolor: Simple, Fast, & Focused. Emphasis will be on design principles, composition, and color/value relationships with the objective of building strong paintings by seeing and thinking simply, painting quickly and energetically, and focusing on the "idea" of the painting. Mel paints in a loose, representational style and creates a casual and friendly atmosphere making each workshop a joyful experience. The Lauterbrunnen Valley is the most impressive glaciated valley in the Alps and comprises one of the largest nature-protected areas in Switzerland with 72 waterfalls, picturesque pastures and pure mountain air. The hotel is in a very quiet area, yet only 2 short minutes from the railway station, where we'll go to some other one-day painting sites, such as Wengen, Murren, Gimmelwald (Heidi's village).
