Still Life Study
October 2-4, 2015 (9 am - 4 pm) — "I have found the still-life to be the most biographical form of painting. Even a self-portrait is not so revealing of an artist's personality. The objects, atmosphere, lighting and composition bring forth a sense of the artist's being. His mood, character and interest all are reflected in the still life." This workshop will be centered on utilizing objects of personal interest to develop compositions and design. For three days we will work emphasizing form and value relationships through the use of lighting and color. Marc will give a demonstration the first morning followed by individual instruction. Painting with Purpose
October 16-18, 2015 (9am-4pm) — Learn how to make every brushstroke clear and meaningful. A fine painting does not happen by accident or luck but by seeing consciously. This workshop will teach you to think clearly and fearlessly about what you are putting on your canvas, concentrating on brush strokes and clean color, along with fine tuning your perception of values and edges. Many of Stephanie's students consider this clear approach to be a life changing painting experience. Stephanie and her work have been featured in popular publications such as International Artist Magazine, Southwest Art, Plein Air Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, and The Pastel Journal. Alla Prima Figure
December 4-6, 2015 — The focus of this class will be on drawing the figure (day 1) and Alla Prima oil painting and the various techniques used to create a fresh, spontaneous response to your subject matter while the paint is still wet.
