Focal Point: Nationally Juried Exhibition

The Maryland Federation of Art announces a call to artists for a juried exhibition at MFA's Curve Gallery, January 25-February 23 in Annapolis, MD. $1,000 in awards. Juror: Jay Gould, Maryland Institute College of Art. Computer software has forever expanded ways for artists to capture and produce their work. MFA celebrates this exhibition by examining the artistic use of all digital media. Eligible entries may be either 2-D or 3-D image-based work that is created and/or produced through the use of software (whether purchased or artist created) and includes, but is not limited to digitally produced: photography, graphic design, painting, video and non-film projection. $40 for one or two entries, and $5 each for up to four additional entries. Artists In Action 2018: A Short-Term Studio, Show & Sale Program

From January 11-February 26, 2019, Annmarie's spectacular Main Gallery will be transformed into temporary artist studios, providing a serene retreat and experimental space for artists to develop new works, display and sell their work, network with other artists, and share their creative process with visitors. Artists are invited to sign-up for 1-2 week periods, limited housing available. Artists working in any media may submit proposals. Studios will be set up much like a "booth," utilizing the artist's own supplies and equipment. Artists are encouraged to sell artwork in their booths. In addition, artists are asked to create an activity for visitors, as simple or as complex as you wish, that will allow visitors to experiment with your materials and creative process. $20 application fee. Pelham Art Center is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 10th biennial Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting. This juried competition is open to U.S.-based artists aged 19 and older. The winner is awarded a $5,000 cash prize and a solo exhibition at Pelham Art Center (Pelham, NY). Pelham Art Center is proud to sponsor this competition and award honoring the memory and artistic achievement of artist Alexander Rutsch (1916 - 1997). Rutsch actively supported Pelham Art Center for more than 25 years. 76th Regional Exhibition Call for Entries

The Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, NY seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, March 15 - June 14, 2019. Up to $10,000 in cash awards. Artists must be 18 or older and live in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Although the Arnot Art Museum maintains a primary focus on representational art, the Museum welcomes the submission of non-objective work for the biennial Regional Exhibitions. All painting and drawing, media, sculpture, graphics, photography, clay, textiles, jewelry, wood or metal work, and mixed media are eligible. Works should not exceed 96 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 150 pounds. Works must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging/installation. Artists are invited to apply for the Baltimore Fine Craft Show, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2019 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. Jurors: Michael Monroe, Lloyd Herman and Carol Sauvion. All work submitted must be original creations. The Craft Show is committed to presenting the most thoughtful, original, and skilled American & International craft and design objects. Eligible media: Basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. The artist should apply in the category that best describes his/her medium. For instance, a jewelry artist using metal should not apply in the metal category. Other media not listed above may be included in mixed media when combined with one of the Show's established media. If applying under mixed media, please explain in artist statement why mixed media is appropriate.
