"Street Level" Exhibit at Maritime Garage Gallery

The Norwalk Parking Authority's Maritime Garage Gallery is inviting submissions from artists 18 and over for a new exhibit entitled "Street Level," to be displayed October 25, 2018 - January 18, 2019. The exhibit will feature works inspired by art in public places. Through art, public spaces have become the perfect canvas for many artists around the world, transforming walls, buildings, and neighborhoods into outdoor galleries. The Gallery is looking for pieces that take their cues from street art, guerrilla art, graffiti, tagging, stencil graffiti, poster art, and urban intervention. MLK Days 2019 Residency Opportunity

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites artists to submit a community arts project proposal inspired by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., his life, his vision, his work. A modest honorarium and project budget will be provided. The project coincides with our annual MLK Days program in January, and may remain on display through February. The project may result in a short or long term installation to be exhibited in the sculpture garden or one of the galleries. Artist must be willing to engage with visitors during the three days of the program. Residency length: minimum 3 days, up to 1 week. Annmarie's residency program provides a serene place on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay for visual, musical, and literary artists to design and produce a community arts project. Most artists run their project through Annmarie's creative reuse center, called the artLAB, where artists are encouraged to incorporate recycled or repurposed materials into their project. Artists will also have access to the galleries, a private studio space, the clay studio, the 30 acre sculpture garden, the waterfront area, etc. Residencies are meant to focus on community arts projects; those that merge arts and the environment are particularly desirable. 2019 Baltimore Fine Craft Show

Artists are invited to apply for the Baltimore Fine Craft Show, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2019 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Jurors: Michael Monroe, Lloyd Herman and Carol Sauvion. All work submitted must be original creations. The Craft Show is committed to presenting the most thoughtful, original, and skilled American & International craft and design objects. Eligible media: Basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. The artist should apply in the category that best describes his/her medium. For instance, a jewelry artist using metal should not apply in the metal category. Other media not listed above may be included in mixed media when it is combined with one of the Show's established media. If applying under mixed media, please explain in artist statement why mixed media is appropriate. Unacceptable media categories: Objects created by 3D printing technology, paintings, prints, graphics, photography, mass-produced work, soap, or objects made from commercial kits.
