Materials Hard + Soft International Contemporary Craft Competition

The Greater Denton Arts Council in Denton, Texas seeks entries for a juried exhibition, February 1 - May 4, 2019. $2500 in awards. Juror: Janey McCall. Works produced in any of the craft media: clay, fiber, glass, metal, paper, wood, or any combination of craft media, are acceptable. Entries must be the complete work of the submitting artist(s). Kits or commercially designed works will not be accepted. All work must have been completed within the past two years (2016-2018) and not previously exhibited at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. Works must be ready for installation. Submission are restricted to a weight limit of no more than 75 pounds. Embracing Our Differences International Art Exhibit Celebrating Diversity

Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change. Since 2004, Embracing Our Differences has used the power of art and prose to promote diversity. One way we accomplish this is through our annual international art exhibition in Sarasota's Bayfront Park, January 19 - March 14, 2019. The juried exhibit consists of 45 billboard-size images, each work of art is created by local, national and international artists reflecting their interpretation of our theme "enriching lives through diversity and inclusion." New Orleans Exhibition w/ $$, paid travel/shipping, and catalog/artist book

Individual Visual Artists or Collaboratives working in any media are encouraged to apply to show at Antenna in New Orleans. One applicant working outside of Louisiana will be awarded a solo show, given an honorarium of $1,000 (split amongst the group, if collaborative), paid shipping, paid travel to and from New Orleans for the install and opening of the exhibition, accommodations in Antenna's residency space, and access to Antenna's print facilities to publish an exhibition catalog or other similar ephemera to be determined by the artists. $35 application fee. 2019 Palm Beach Fine Craft Show

Artists are invited to apply for the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show, February 15-17, 2019 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jurors: Michael Monroe, Lloyd Herman and Carol Sauvion. All work submitted must be original creations. The Craft Show is committed to presenting the most thoughtful, original, and skilled American & International craft and design objects. Eligible media: Basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. The artist should apply in the category that best describes his/her medium. For instance, a jewelry artist using metal should not apply in the metal category. Other media not listed above may be included in mixed media when it is combined with one of the Show's established media. If applying under mixed media, please explain in artist statement why mixed media is appropriate. Unacceptable media categories: Objects created by 3D printing technology, paintings, prints, graphics, photography, mass-produced work, soap, or objects made from commercial kits. In addition, works that incorporate materials and or parts acquired from the killing of endangered species (e.g., feathers, tusks), elephant or mammoth ivory, dried or silk flower arrangements, bonsai, embellished commercially-made objects (e.g., t-shirts, note cards, etc.) do not qualify.
