"Let’s Create Flowers - Watercolor (Ages 13 yrs to adult)"
February 18, 2026

Let’s make flowers! Let’s start by using watercolors and create a bouquet blending colors. Once dry, we’ll pick up our pens, markers, and gouache (or anything else we want) to create interesting playful flowers. We’ll add some splashes of gold, silver, or white! It’s a relaxing experience to just make things up. All artistic levels welcome!

"The Art of Underpainting for Oils & Acrylics"
February 23, 2026

Under painting using one dark color – usually burnt sienna, burnt umber or a dark blue – is the thin foundational layer of paint applied to a canvas to lay out composition, tone, and value (light and shadow) before applying final colors. An underpainting eliminates the stark empty canvas and sets the tone of the subsequent painting. Painting objects or shapes with changing values, creates an immediate illusion of space, and your painting becomes an exciting, vibrant artwork — even before adding color. It all just gets better from there on! Alex will paint from a still life as she demonstrates how to compose the objects and add “life” to them with the underpainting. Paint along in either oil or acrylic.

"Spontaneous Abstraction Workshop"
February 28 - March 1, 2026

Many artists can feel frustrated in front of a blank canvas, unsure of how to start and what to paint. Paint with confidence by learning techniques to tap into your intuitive process and find inspiration more easily! Experienced instruction and advice will push students to take chances and explore unexpected directions and accidental marks to achieve artistic discoveries. Students will use line, color and space, and editing possibilities to create busy/calm areas and focal points in their paintings as they work from personal imagery, expression, and imagination. Instruction will take the form of PowerPoint presentation/examples, formal direction from modern and contemporary artists, and one-on-on critiques in Zoom sessions that are geared toward open painting time in a classroom-like setting. Painting experience recommended.

"Holistic Figure Drawing and Anatomy"
Thursdays, March 12 - April 16, 2026

The human body is one of the most fascinating and inspiring subjects for artists, but many are intimidated by its complexity. Join Roberto Osti, artist, teacher and author of Basic Human Anatomy: An Essential Visual Guide, to draw the human figure with confidence through an understanding of its basic shapes and underlying anatomy. Study the human form from a structural point of view to become familiar with its basic landmarks, essential volumes, main muscle groups, and proportional relationships. Supplement this anatomical knowledge with classical rendering methods using graphite, charcoal, and chalk on white and toned papers, including the trois crayons technique, to produce beautiful figure drawings. The online structure allows for an optimal overhead view of the instructor’s demonstration drawings.
