Fragmented Call for Submissions

Linus Gallery seeks entries for an online art exhibition. Awards: recognition, link to your website online, some social media promotion. It's an abstract way of thinking, breaking down perspective into finite relative pieces. It makes no sense at first, and yet, it makes the ultimate sense. In this international art call we are asking for the artist's interpretation of fragmented art. Open to all professional and amateur artists. One Shot: Calling for Works Made in One Sitting

The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, presents an open call for artwork exploring the theme of works made in one sitting. Selected artists are eligible for the annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize ($2,500). Whether it be an 'alla prima' approach to painting, a spontaneous drawing, an inspired collage, or some other form of artwork, one can only marvel at such works done with grace, precision, aggressive passion, and finality - ultimately all in one sitting. Regardless of whether it was the result of a brief moment, or a long day of labor, a work of art made in one sitting tells a truth often hidden by other more refined works. With this in mind, we are eager to see what this truth looks like, and how it may vary from artist to artist, work to work. All types of work are welcome, including traditional and non-traditional approaches in any media, and any subject, non-objective, abstract, conceptual, etc. $40 entry fee. Deadline: January 8, 2019. Sculptors are invited to submit entries for the 27th SculptFest, held April 26-28, 2019 at Centennial Plaza in Round Rock, Texas. Awards will be made and the City will purchase a sculpture from an exhibitor. This major invitational show will include approximately 80 sculptors hailing from across Texas and throughout the U.S. The show will feature a huge selection of miniature to monumental size sculptures as well as sculpture demonstrations including stone carving and bronze pouring. All types of sculpture will be accepted but will be juried. The City of Round Rock spent a significant amount of money for the 26th SculptFest in April 2018 and the Allen Houser exhibit. Community business leaders and the SculptFest hosts believe that a top sculpture show attracting visitors makes a significant contribution to economic development. Therefore, sculptors are not charged to participate in this event. SculptFest is the first national show to not charge sculptors to exhibit. Deadline: January 30, 2019. More info.
