"Three-Day Color Boot Camp"
May 15-17, 2024

We will start out the first day doing still life study out of doors which will prepare us to tackle the landscape. Second day we will be on location painting the landscape. I will be teaching the structure of the landscape—what is important to include as well as what to leave out. On the last day we will do color studies of the figure. We will concentrate on the development of strong starts, and focus on expressing the big masses, light key and aerial perspective with color. I will be doing demos throughout the workshop. You will do a color study before lunch, followed by one or two color studies in the afternoon.

"Studio & Plein Air"
June 20-22, 2024

After many years of teaching and observation of the artwork being created today, I realize a major component that is missing in most work is a true illusion of light. My classes and workshops are geared to unravel the mystery of capturing light in your paintings. This one thing will add power and feeling into your work. It will also give you the freedom to explore your personal artistic creative voice. I will introduce exercises to practice and give you more clarity of the intention and process of creating light filled fine art. The world needs more light and we can touch people’s lives with our work if we can direct our passion and energy to achieve that level of creativity.

"Taking Your Work to the Next Level"
November 6-8, 2024

Artists who are interested in improving their work often get stalled in their progress and just need a kick-start to get back on the path for excellence. This workshop is a chance to take a good honest look at your current work and consider what exactly needs improvement. The class will be divided into three parts: identification of the one area that most needs improvement, individualized exercises to address the problem, studio painting to put new ideas in to practice.
