6x6x2014 - International Call for Entries (Posted: 1/11/14) -- Rochester Contemporary Art Center's (RoCo), international small art phenomenon returns for the 7th year! Help us once again to build an incredible exhibition of thousands of artworks made and donated by celebrities, international & local artists, designers, college students, youths, and YOU. Each artwork must be 6x6 square inches (15cm) or mounted to a 6x6 board, signed only on the back, and exhibited anonymously. All entries will be accepted and exhibited in the gallery and online. All artworks will also be offered for sale to the public for $20 each to benefit RoCo. Artist names will be revealed to the buyer upon purchase and all artworks will remain on display through July 13, 2014. Sold Out artists' names will be revealed next to their work online on July 4. Artists may enter up to 6 artworks of any medium (2D or 3D) and there is no fee to enter. Last years exhibition included 6,000 artworks from 45 different countries and every US State! "Dimensions, A 50th Anniversary" (Posted: 2/26/14) -- Associated Artists of Winston-Salem is celebrating the 50th anniversary of our National Juried Exhibit, Dimensions, in June. The first Dimensions exhibition was held in 1964, so this year's competition will serve as a testament to the success of the show. Having Jean W. McLaughlin, the Director of the Penland School of Crafts, as the juror, will add to the level of excellence in this year's landmark competition. Dimensions routinely attracts artists from around the United States and Puerto Rico. Over $1,800 in awards. Works in all fine art media completed within the last 5 years are eligible, as long as they have not been displayed in any previous one month or longer AAWS exhibits. Art should be original (no mass-produced prints or reproductions). Hand-pulled prints, original digital prints and photographs are acceptable. Photographers should enter the first edition of a print run. All work must be the exhibitor's original idea and be created by the exhibitor - not done under the supervision of an instructor. A Tile & A Vessel (Posted: 4/3/14) -- The Silver City CLAY Festival's International Juried Exhibition, held July 31 - August 3, 2014 in Silver City, NM requires that each entry consist of two clay components: one, the artist's interpretation of a vessel, and one, the artist's interpretation of a tile. They must relate to each other in design and/or function. The pairing may exist as separate parts or as one physically integrated piece; however, each submitted pairing will be juried and sold as one work. Open to all artists residing everywhere. $1000.00 - 1st Place Tad Van der Weele Memorial Award; $750.00 - 2nd Place; $500.00 - 3rd Place; $200.00 - Tile Heritage Prize. Juror: Nawal Motawi. All entries must be original and executed since January 1, 2013, and not previously submitted to other shows. Tiles should not be larger than 12" by 12" and must be prepared for hanging if appropriate for the piece. The vessel is limited to 24" high and no more than 20lbs in weight. Application Call - New Artists Feature (Posted: 4/17/14) -- Culturehall, a curated digital artist registry, invites artists working in all disciplines to participate in an open call for applications. From the call, four artists will be selected for inclusion in the New Artists Feature - a quarterly publication that highlights each artist's work through text and images. Features publish to the Culturehall homepage and as a newsletter to a list of 10,000 subscribers. Artists also receive membership to the Culturehall Registry where they can directly share their work, accomplishments and events with the audience of curators, collectors, gallerists and other arts professionals who visit Culturehall daily. Me, Myself and I, National Juried Self-portrait Exhibition (Posted: 2/7/14) -- Eastern New Mexico University seeks self-portraits for an upcoming exhibit, June 1 - August 29, 2014 at the Runnels Gallery in Portales, New Mexico. Spotlight Awards, Cash Prizes. Social, cultural, political, gender, age and sexual orientation are part of our identities as individuals. Each of these elements play a part in how we identify within various constructs such as family, workforce, community and greater society. The aim of this exhibition is to feature self-portraits that best depict our own individual identity and the ability to be a camellia of uniqueness or to fit within the statuesque. All artists will be featured. Artists are welcome to submit as many self-portraits as they wish; however, the gallery can only guarantee a minimum of six photos per artist will be displayed. If space permits, more photos will be used. Self-portraits must be original, completed within the last five years and not previously shown at Runnels Gallery. Self-portraits must be 8" x 10". 2014 SAAG National Juried Show (Posted: 4/17/14) -- Artists who are legal residents of the United States are invited to participate in a juried exhibition sponsored by the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild (SAAG) and the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association (BRMAA).
