Red 2017 - Call For Exhibition and Grant Opportunity

Twenty artists will be selected for a group exhibit entitled "Red 2" at G25N's online gallery. The exhibit and all selected artists will be extensively marketed. The curators will be looking for artwork that reflects an artist's interpretation of a subject enhanced through the use of the color red. The application of red in the work has no required parameters---from a single red dot to a completely red image---the choice rests within the artist's eye. The color red implies many emotions and feelings; power, heat, love, sexuality, anger, joy, and war are but a few examples. As part of an ongoing commitment to promote drawing practices in the visual arts, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites artists to submit entries to a Juried International Exhibition of contemporary drawing, January 19 - February 23, 2018. $2000 in awards & full-color catalogue. UNC Asheville seeks to examine drawing as it is practiced and defined by today's artists. Imprint: An International Competitive Call for Printmaking

Manifest in Cincinnati, OH presents an open international call to artists to submit works of printmaking. The Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, FL announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, February 2 - March 20, 2018. More than $7500 in prize money; $2,000 for Best of Show. Juror: Steven J. Levin. This exhibition is limited to two-dimensional paintings and drawings in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, charcoal, colored pencil, graphite, and mixed media. Media for the Bowles Award for Portrait Excellence is limited to drawing, painting and pastel. 2018 Call for Proposals, Roman J Witt Residency Program

Both established and emerging artists/ designers are invited to apply for the Witt Residency at the Stamps School of Art & Design in Ann Arbor, MI. The Witt residency provides students an alternative learning opportunity to engage with practicing artists who can make use of resources across campus, therefore the ideal candidate must value collaboration, have good social and communication skills and be interested in generating creative partnerships across disciplines. It is the goal of the Witt Residency to foster an atmosphere of inventive creative activity that extends throughout the University community. Witt Residents receive an honorarium of $20,000 for up to twelve weeks in residence served over an academic year. This $3,000 prize from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University honors the best documentary writing and photography in alternating years. The focus is on current or recently completed work (within the last two years). This year's prize is for photography.
