Athens Voices USA '19

The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, January 19 - March 16, 2019. $1,500 in prize money: Best in Show, 3 Juror's Awards, Most Innovative Use of Material, People's Choice Award. Jurors: Brian T. Alloway, Karla Hackenmiller, Joseph Norman. Athens Voices '19 is open to artists of any media living or working withing 30 miles of an Athens community anywhere in the United States. Innovative, contemporary work is encouraged inclusive of, but not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, video, drawing, performance, installation, and ceramics. Artists must be ages 18 and over. Works eligible for consideration must be the result of independent effort. Work cannot be created for or as the result of an instructional setting in which another artist or teacher has provided guidance. The work must be an original design, not a copy or a variation on the original design of another artist working in any medium. Utility: Exhibit of Works of Functional Art

Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH announces a call to artists for an upcoming art exhibition, January 25 - February 22, 2019. Utility is a competitive international exhibition of works exploring the theme of works that function. We are eager to share how artists incorporate utility into their work, and how designers or craftspeople elevate the products of their labor with skill, sophisticated content, or a high degree of formal or creative refinement. Our goal is that this exhibit will result in a wide range of types of work, all aligning to the criteria that every piece must be functional. Works may be in any media, 2D or 3D, however functionality or utility must be an aspect of each submission. Similitude: Works Exploring Portraiture

Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH announces a call to artists for a competitive international exhibition of works exploring the theme of the portrait, January 25 - February 22, 2019. Works selected will represent some point of view relative to this theme. Recognition matters. 29th Annual Midwest Seasons Exhibit

The Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau, WI announces a call for artists for a competitive exhibition, January 4 - March 9, 2019. $1,500 in awards: 1 Best in Show, 3 Awards of Excellence, 3 Honors. The "29th Annual Midwest Seasons Exhibit" is open to artists over the age of 18. Original works should draw inspiration from Midwest seasonal impressions and activities: i.e., the excitement of summer sports, the fresh scents of spring awakenings, the warmth of a cup of hot soup in the bitter winter, or the crisp air and autumn colors. This show will focus on unexpected angles, odd vantage points, or any art that forces the viewer to look at subjects in a new way. Regional Showcase: Ohio, Kentucky, & Indiana

The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, presents an open call for works of art made by artists living in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana for an upcoming art exhibition, March 8 - April 5, 2019. This exhibit has no defined expectation for type, media, or style of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria for entry is that works must qualify as works of visual art in the broadest sense of the term made by artists living in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana. Manifest has no requirements on timeframe when submitted works must have been made. Manifest has no size restrictions on submissions other than what can fit in our spaces, on our walls, and through our door. St. Joseph Sculpture Walk Call for Sculptors

St. Joseph Sculpture Walk (Saint Joseph, Missouri) is open to professional and amateur sculptors. Selected sculptures/sculptors will receive a $500 honorarium and all sculptures selected will be competing for up to $13,000 in cash prize awards. Artists must own the rights to the artwork and the sculpture must be available for the duration of the one-year contract (June 2019-May 2020). All submissions must be professionally constructed of durable materials that will withstand the elements. All durable outdoor media are encouraged. Must be 18 years old or older. Art Spectacular at the Carillon

The Rees Carillon Society seeks artists for a juried fine art fair on September 14-15, 2019. $1,300 in awards. Ranked #18 in the "200 Best Art Shows in the United States" by Sunshine Artist Magazine, the 14th annual Art Spectacular is professionally juried for quality and media balance. It's held on the lawn of beautiful Washington Park in Springfield, IL - next to a wealthy neighborhood of art-buying, appreciative and knowledgeable aficionados who love At Spectacular. Art Spectacular is a fund raiser for the non-profit world-class Rees Memorial Carillon in Washington Park, the 6th largest carillon in the world. Featuring up to 50 artists, Art Spectacular also features a Preview Sale, Patron Bucks, Demos, Music, Food Vendor; and a Silent Auction and Gift Basket Raffle which benefit the Carillon.
