Call for Outdoor Sculpture

The Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center, located in Olde Towne Portsmouth, VA seeks proposals for outdoor sculptures to be displayed in our courtyard, April 6 - October 14, 2019. Awards include Juror's Choice $1,500; Seawall Art $1,000; Brancusi Art $500; and People's Choice $500. Juror: Corey Piper, Brock Curator of Art, Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, VA. The sculptures must be made of durable materials to withstand outdoor weather conditions. The artist is responsible for transport and sculpture stand or base, if needed. Photographic call for entry "black/white"

A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX seeks entries for a juried photography exhibition, January 11 to February 17, 2019. Fifty to fifty five images will be selected for exhibition. A Blurb full color catalogue of the exhibit with all the accepted entries will be available for purchase. Awards are $325 for Juror's Award, $250 for Director's Award, three Juror Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalogue, discretionary Director Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalogue and $100 for Visitors' Award. 10th Annual International Drawing Discourse Exhibition

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote drawing practices in the visual arts, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites artists to submit entries to a juried international exhibition of contemporary drawing. $2,000 in awards. Juror: Claire Gilman. UNC Asheville seeks to examine drawing as it is practiced and defined by today's artists. Such an exhibition will demonstrate the continued significance of drawing through both conventional and innovative methods. Accepted work will be exhibited (with thanks while the UNC Asheville Tucker Cooke Gallery is under renovation) in the Holden Gallery on the campus of Warren Wilson College January 18 - February 22, 2019. Artist Applications for Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival

The Greater Reston Arts Center seeks artists for the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival, May 17-19, 2019 at the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA. $5,000 in ten (10) Awards of Excellence. Each application will be digitally reviewed by a panel of three paid art professionals and Greater Reston Arts Center staff. Applications should consist of original, well-conceived, and expertly executed works, made within the last five years, either by hand or with appropriate tools, by the applicant. 16th Annual Pinecrest Gardens Fine Arts Festival

Pinecrest Gardens in Pinecrest, FL invites artists to apply for their annual fine arts festival, held January 26 and 27, 2019. Up to $4,000 in awards. All work must be original and executed by the accepted artists. Exhibitors must attend their work in person for the duration of the show. Exhibitor's employees may not substitute for the exhibitor, except during breaks. Only work representative of that submitted and accepted may be exhibited. Pinecrest Gardens reserves the right to request removal of any work that differs from that as well as the removal of any inappropriate work or display that does not fit within a family oriented environment. All reproductions must be clearly labeled as "reproductions". All tents must be in good condition to ensure the quality of the event. We highly recommend walls to protect and secure your exhibit overnight. Georgia Watercolor Society - 40th National Exhibition

The Georgia Watercolor Society seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, March 9 - April 26, 2019 at the Bowen Center for the Arts in Dawsonville, GA. Anticipated $10,000 in awards. Juror: Paul Jackson. This competition is open to all artists 17 years of age and older. You need not be a resident of Georgia to enter. All paintings must be original work using water media. Watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, and egg tempera are all allowed. Pastels and oil, including water-soluble oil, are not allowed. Mixed media and collage are acceptable but only if all elements are made using water media created by the artist. Work must be on paper, Yupo, watercolor canvas, canvas or Claybord. Sandy Springs Arts in the Open 2019 : public outdoor sculpture competition

Art Sandy Springs and the City of Sandy Springs seeks entries for a new public sculpture competition created to bring art to the parks and public spaces throughout Sandy Springs, Georgia. Nine sculptures will be prominently displayed around the new 4-acre City Green April 2019 - March 2020 for the first annual exhibit. $1500 honorarium for each of 9 sculptures selected; City will purchase one or more at the end of competition. Artist must be 18 years of age or older and be the owner and creator of the art work submitted. Works submitted to this year's competition can be inspired by anything from the natural world or the urban environment. Artwork shall be undamaged and unblemished, fabricated and finished with non-hazardous materials. All artwork shall be structurally able to be secured to a concrete pad with anchor bolts. 27th SculptFest

Sculptors are invited to submit entries for the 27th SculptFest, held April 26-28, 2019 at Centennial Plaza in Round Rock, Texas. Awards will be made and the City will purchase a sculpture from an exhibitor. This major invitational show will include approximately 80 sculptors hailing from across Texas and throughout the U.S. The show will feature a huge selection of miniature to monumental size sculptures as well as sculpture demonstrations including stone carving and bronze pouring. All types of sculpture will be accepted but will be juried. The City of Round Rock spent a significant amount of money for the 26th SculptFest in April 2018 and the Allen Houser exhibit. Community business leaders and the SculptFest hosts believe that a top sculpture show attracting visitors makes a significant contribution to economic development. Therefore, sculptors are not charged to participate in this event. SculptFest is the first national show to not charge sculptors to exhibit. Deadline: January 30, 2019. More info.
