10th Annual Expressions Portrait Competition and Exhibit

ArtSpace Herndon announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, October 2-27, 2018 in Herndon, VA. $1,000 in awards. Juror: Jill Banks. Open to artists 18 years or older residing in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, West Virginia, and Delaware. Preference will be given to works adhering to the traditional definition of portraiture: "a painting, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person." (Wikipedia, March 2015) Artwork must be original 2D or 3D portraiture. Impression : A National Printmaking Exhibition

The d'Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, October 18 - November 17, 2018. 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place: $300, 3rd Place: $150. Juror: Brendan Baylor. Impression is an exhibition that features the fine art of printmaking in traditional methods such as screen printing, letterpress, relief, lithography, and intaglio. The reception will fall on Thursday October 18th, the first night of Norfolk's NEON Festival in the NEON District (Norfolk's Art District). In 2017, the NEON Festival had about 4,000 people attend the two day festival. Entries must be original and hand pulled. No digital or photographic reproductions of original work will be accepted. Work may be no longer than 48" in its longest dimension, and weigh no more than 50 pounds. All work must be framed and hang ready. The Greater Denton Arts Council in Denton, Texas seeks entries for a juried exhibition, February 1 - May 4, 2019. $2500 in awards. Juror: Janey McCall.
