7 Deadly Sins: an international juried photography exhibit

Cotuit Center for the Arts, one of the most dynamic year-round cultural institutions on Cape Cod, seeks photography for its October 2018 show, Seven Deadly Sins. Interpret the theme in your own unique way. The sins of lust, envy, sloth, gluttony, pride, wrath, and greed, are with us every day. Where do you see them? What are the countermeasures you see people take to avoid their deadly embrace? All submitted work will be shown in our digital gallery and 30 works will be chosen to be hung in the gallery. $3250 in cash prizes: $1000 grand prize, $750 second prize, $500 third prize plus four judge's choice $250 prizes. The juror is famed photographer Amy Arbus, who teaches portraiture at the International Center of Photography, Anderson Ranch, NORD photography and the Fine Arts Work Center. She has published several books of photography and appeared in over 100 periodicals. One Gun Gone: Thoughts and Prayers are not Enough

The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts in partnership with One Gun Gone, a multi-disciplinary gun violence prevention public art project to engage students in underserved neighborhoods, seeks entries for a juried international photography exhibition, October 18 thru November 9, 2018 in Providence. Profits from this call will go to fund One Gun Gone's gun buy-back program. $1,000 in awards. Juror: Boris Bally. Entered photographs should address or relate to gun violence. Call for Artists: Alchemic Cities | Fire.Air.Water.Earth

ITSLIQUID GROUP seeks entries for an innovative video art exhibition that will be presented in a very experimental art space, a limousine, which will run around the streets of New York City, destination of curators and collectors from all over the world. Passengers will be transported by video art for 4 hours on October 2018, following an amazing tour of the city that will start from the Rockefeller Center and will finish at The Standard Hotel. The exhibition is focused on the concept of transformation of human body and contemporary cities, starting from the alchemical processes, that aim to purify the nature elements: earth, air, water and fire. We invite artists to share their researches about the natural elements and the creative processes of mixing and changing the urban place and the body space, using the balance between them as a field of an artistic transformation. The Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA seeks entries for Craft Forms, December 7, 2018 - January 26, 2019. $8,000+ in awards. Juror: Perry Allen Price. Open to all professional artists working in clay, fiber, quilt, glass, metal, jewelry, wood, 3D printing, and/or mixed media crafts. Work submitted must be innovative and original in design. "Street Level" Exhibit at Maritime Garage Gallery

The Norwalk Parking Authority's Maritime Garage Gallery is inviting submissions from artists 18 and over for a new exhibit entitled "Street Level," to be displayed October 25, 2018 - January 18, 2019. MLK Days 2019 Residency Opportunity

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites artists to submit a community arts project proposal inspired by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., his life, his vision, his work. A modest honorarium and project budget will be provided. The project coincides with our annual MLK Days program in January, and may remain on display through February. The project may result in a short or long term installation to be exhibited in the sculpture garden or one of the galleries. Artist must be willing to engage with visitors during the three days of the program. Residency length: minimum 3 days, up to 1 week. Annmarie's residency program provides a serene place on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay for visual, musical, and literary artists to design and produce a community arts project. Most artists run their project through Annmarie's creative reuse center, called the artLAB, where artists are encouraged to incorporate recycled or repurposed materials into their project. Artists will also have access to the galleries, a private studio space, the clay studio, the 30 acre sculpture garden, the waterfront area, etc. Residencies are meant to focus on community arts projects; those that merge arts and the environment are particularly desirable.
