Featured Artist Competition - Verde Valley Birding & Nature Festival

The Verde Valley Birding & Nature Festival is an annual festival held each April in Cottonwood, AZ and presented by Friends of the Verde River. Each year artists are invited to submit images of original artwork reflecting the festival bird for consideration as the featured artist. The 2019 Festival Bird is the Cinnamon Teal. The selected featured image will be used to promote the festival through print and online advertising as well as in promotional fundraising products that benefit Friends of the Verde River, a 501 (c)3 nonprofit. The winning artist will receive a $100 award, promotional products that include their image, and a free 10 x 10 space in the vendor tent at the festival to exhibit and sell their artwork. Up to four additional artists work will be selected for inclusion in the digital bird art section of the website and a greeting card collection. Yosemite Renaissance 34 Competition and Exhibition

Artists are invited to submit entries for a juried art exhibition, held Feb 23 through May 5, 2019 at Yosemite National Park Museum in Yosemite, California. $5,000 in cash awards. The exhibit is open to artists worldwide. Subject matter must be related to the landscape, environment, wildlife and people of Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada region. Both representational and non-representational submissions are allowed. We encourage artists who apply to celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature through art, but also to consider and explore environmental issues, ecology, biology, forestry, current events, political, spiritual and cultural themes. The AnuCompany is looking to feature 12 artists for the coming year (one artist or art collective group per month) at the Anu Galleria in South Salt Lake, UT. $2,400 in awards ($200 cash prize per selected artist). The Western Colorado Watercolor Society announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, March 1-30, 2019 at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction, Colorado. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails. The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art in San Luis Obispo, CA announces a call to artists for Brushstrokes 2019, a non-themed exhibition representing a wide range of artistic expression in painting. The exhibit will be held September 6 - October 27, 2019. At least three Awards of Excellence. Juror: Jerry McLaughlin.
