Oil Painters of America announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, May 10 - June 7, 2019 at Illume Gallery of Fine Art in St. George, Utah. $100,000 in cash & merchandise. Juror: Kenn Backhaus OPAM. Submissions must be originally conceived, artist's own reference, own drawing, own concept and must have been self-painted. Paintings created in an instructional setting, including, but not limited to workshops and art classes are not considered original artwork. Paintings created from a group photo shoot set-up by another artist are not considered original artwork. No direct copies of stock images, historic photos, or of any reference to which you do not hold total copyright are allowed. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails.
