Discover the "pointed potential" of colored pencil! Kristy Kutch is the author of Drawing and Painting with Colored Pencil and The New Colored Pencil; she is the featured artist in 4 instructional DVDs. Kristy teaches colored pencil workshops nationwide, providing an informative and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. Both "traditional" (waxy) and watercolor pencils are included, with fascinating "painterly" techniques for both types of pencils. Watersoluble wax pastels (which resemble larger crayons) are also featured. Explore a wide range of compatible papers and boards which lend themselves beautifully to this dynamic medium. Kristy's workshop features demonstrations, individual attention, many materials to sample, and a generous cache of supplies for each student. "Expressive Paint – exploring the landscape with David Skinner"
October 13-15, 2017

The emphasis of this workshop is to help students develop an expressive touch with paint and to loosen up their brushwork. The landscape is a very good vehicle for exploring paint, and acrylic paints are very forgiving when trying to paint expressively. The students will work from photographs, either their own or from photos I will provide. Each day will begin with a demo in which David discuss topics as value, design, color, brushwork, and line. At the end of each day, we will have a class dialogue about each other’s work, pointing out what works, what doesn’t and how to improve. It’s a lot of fun and hopefully, will help make students better painters!
